These research areas are amongst the most active in Astronomy and Astrophysics. CAAUL's research has a strong observational component which has resulted in important amounts of telescope time in major internacional observatories. CAAUL's researchers expertise encompass essentially all wavelengths, from X-rays to radio, both in photometry and spectroscopy.
As for theoretical work, one should note the Cosmology research (cosmological models and gravitational lenses) which includes recent work on the Accelerated Expansion of the Universe: dark energy and modified gravity.
